In the northwestern part of the Croatian Zagorje near Desinića is fortified castle Veliki Tabor. The first tower built in the 12th century, the other semi-circular towers were built in the 15th and 16 century and assumed its present appearance around 1820. year. The most important owners and users of the castle were the Counts of Celje, Ratkaj the great Croatian painter Otto Ivekovic. Particular interest given the court a large well 31 feet deep and large rustic room decorated halberds. Score UNESCO Veliki Tabor is one of the highest category of monuments.
Veliki Tabor is currently under reconstruction and is closed to visitors.
